The three
south of England Sections of the RREC have proposed to work collaboratively and
each of those Sections has agreed to host at least one annual event open to all
three Sections. The first of these is being hosted by the South Eastern Section
at Horsted Place Hotel near Uckfield in East Sussex.
Several
members have commented that due to work, family or other commitments it can be
difficult to attend events on a Sunday. This lunch has therefore been arranged
for a Saturday as a “toe in the water” to assess support for Saturday events.

Originally a private family house, Horsted Place Hotel is now a 4-star country house hotel set
in landscaped gardens with extensive views towards the South Downs. A grade II
listed Victorian gothic mansion, it has original architectural features
designed by Pugin and historical links to the British Royal Family.
Lunch
will be served in the Garden Room overlooking the gardens of which we will have
exclusive use.

Horsted Place Hotel is
located on the A26 south of Uckfield.
If relying on a
SatNav, this is likely to take you beyond the Horsted Place Hotel to Little
Horsted Church. Look out for Horsted on the right-hand side of the A26 about
500 yards from the roundabout on the Uckfield bypass, where there is a
permanent sign.
Car parking The hotel will reserve parking bays out-front of
the hotel.
Prices and booking
A
negotiated price of £45 per person has been agreed with the hotel for a
3-course lunch with a choice of 2 starters;
3 mains; and 2 desserts followed by
coffee and petit fours.
